Frequently Asked Questions

Login Issues

If you were just accepted at the university, please wait two business days to login to Workday. The app may be missing because your account is still being built. If you have been accepted at the university for longer than a week and you still can’t see the app, please submit a help ticket at help.uark.edu, and we will work to get that fixed as quickly as possible.

Double check that you’re logging in with your UARK credentials. If you still get an error, please submit a help ticket at help.uark.edu, and we will work to get that fixed as quickly as possible.

Please keep in mind that newly accepted students will have to wait a few business days before being able to access their account. If you were accepted to the university within the last week, please wait two business days before trying to login and submitting a help ticket.

Onboarding

Student onboarding is separate from your employee onboarding, so yes! There are 5-6 student onboarding tasks, and they take an average of 5 minutes to complete.

In Workday, go to your “My Tasks” inbox (found in the top right corner on a computer or the bottom middle on the mobile app). Your tasks are located in that inbox. If you do not see your onboarding tasks there, please email registra@uark.edu.

Registration

Usually, the reason students don’t see a “Register” button is because they have a hold on their account that’s keeping them from registering or they are attempting to register outside their registration appointment time.

Check your holds by going to Menu > Academics Hub. Any holds on the account will show up in the “My Holds” box. Select “View Holds” at the bottom of the box if you have holds to view more information on the hold.

Check your registration appointment by going to Menu > Academics Hub. Your registration appointment will show up in the “Registration Appointments” box.

You could be trying to register for a class that has seats reserved for online-only students. While there are still some open seats left in the class, those remaining seats are reserved for students in online programs. To double check if this is the case, click into the class to view details. See if there are still available seats for students in non-online programs or if the remaining seats are just for students in online programs.

The issue causing an ineligibility alert is typically that you’re missing a pre-requisite for the class. Check what pre-requisites the class requires, and if you have taken that pre-req in the past. If you are missing the needed pre-requisites, you will need to take a new class or check with your advisor/advising center to see if you can be overridden into the class.

Certain classes require a specific co-requisite (pairing a discussion and lecture or a lab and lecture) to go with a certain course. Click on the class that you’re getting an error for, and make sure you have paired it with the necessary discussion, lecture, lab, etc. Pay special attention to section numbers Workday lists for required co-requisites! For example, ANTH 10203 001 will work with ANTH 10203 D011, but not ANTH 10203 D022.

Reach out to your advisor/advising center and discuss override options. Your advisor/advising center can override you into a course if it is considered necessary.

Advising

Reach out to your advisor/advising center and request a major change.

Make an advising appointment with your advisor/advising center, and they will help you figure out what to take next semester. You can also visit advising.uark.edu for additional advising information.
